The following are merely suggested rides to locations with inspiring scenic roads and stops from actual bonus locations used in previous LD rallies. JUSTIN PHILLIPSON HOSTED his inaugural “How the West Was Won”rally (HW) on June -,  in Georgetown, Colorado. The inspiration for the theme of his rally was Native Americans,Trains, Mining and the resulting Massacres. He tells us that his favorite off-the-beaten-path bonus was the Milk Creek Battlefield Site. The following bonus, the site of the Milk Creek battle, fit his theme. Nathan C. Meeker embarked on a program to get the Ute Indians to replace their horses and bison with plow- shares and seeds. Tempers flared, the government sent in the cavalry at Meeker’s request, and the result was one of the last battles of the so-called Indian Wars. The actual bonus was the memorial dedicated to the Ute Indians involved in the battle of Milk Creek, which is located towards the back of the park. The vistas along the way are amazing. Most riders traveling through Colorado would skip this road, as it is dirt, but it’s easily navigable on a street bike. The battlefield is on the left side, marked by an arch with the words“Milk Creek Battlefield Park”, and a wrought iron gate. Note: The first . miles of County Road  is paved. Beyond that point there is about  miles of well maintained, graded, smooth dirt road. This road is easily rideable on a street bike, but extra cau- tion is advised, particularly in wet conditions. Task: Take a photo of the metal plaque set in a stone pillar toward the back of the park, that is dedicated to the Ute Indians involved in the battle of Milk Creek. ON MAY , , Jonathan “Hammy” Tan hosted the “Peace, Love & Sanity Rally” in Pennsyl- vania. In this rally, bonii were cat- egorized as Peace (peaceful places, often tucked away in the middle of nowhere), Love (romantic locations or plays on the word), or Sanity (psychiatric hospitals). Riders were directed to get equal numbers of bonii from all three categories in order to get a “Well Balanced” bonus. Jonathan, who is a psycholo- gist (go figure) chose these bonii because they fit the theme of the rally, i.e., that one should try to find balance in life and strive towards Peace, Love and Sanity. Lake Nock- amixon is a nice little lake, which is very close to some of the most fun and scenic roads in Bucks County.
